The 25th day of #30DaysofDarkSun is here and the question is "Whats your favorite novel or short story?"
While the Prism Pentad was instrumental in showing us Athas, my favorite novel is the Rise and Fall of a Dragon King by Lynn Abbey. It did a fantastic job of giving the backstory and motivations of Hamanu. Previously the sorcerer-monarchs were seen as fully evil beings and RaFoaDK made Hamanu a more sympathetic character.
